On February 2nd, the Board of the Evergreen Curling Club (ECC) voted to endorse the MARC. ECC plans to notify its members of the Board’s action and will publicly promote the MARC proposal.
ECC’s support for the MARC is based on the consistency of the MARC with ECC’s mission and the fact that the MARC will include two full-size ice sheets thereby opening up extensive opportunities for curling training, leagues and events in a central Portland location.
Evergreen Curling Club was formed in 2002 and has grown steadily since. ECC members currently curl twice a week at Lloyd Center Ice Rink. In addition to two weekly league sessions during the regular season (October through March), ECC also hosts learn-to-curl sessions and an annual wheelchair curling day. ECC members of all ages and abilities participate in curling events across the U.S. and British Columbia, Canada, ranging from friendly bonspiels to competitive regional and national competitions.
