Mayor Now Agrees That Operating Agreement Issue Needs Resolution

On Friday, March 5th, MARC proponents submitted a letter to the Portland City Council requesting a delay in the Memorial Coliseum process.  The letter is here: MARC Letter to City Council Final 03.05.10

On Thursday, March 11th, the Mayor Adams sent a letter to his colleagues on the Portland City Council announcing a delay in the process.  The letter is here:  MC OA letter to colleagues 3-11-2010

Today, the Portland Tribune posted the following:

“Now is the time to resolve the questions about which kinds of events can be held in the coliseum,” says Adams, referring to the existing agreement between the city and the Portland Trail Blazers that gives the team control over both the coliseum and Rose Garden.  MARC sponsor Doug Obletz asked the council to delay its decision, saying continued Blazer management of the coliseum would interfere with his plans.
